February 2018 - University Outreach

When most people think about careers in the Department of Defense (DoD) they think of our Soldiers, Sailors, Airman and Marines in uniform - our Warfighters. HCI spent February 12th - 15th in sunny Florida meeting with select colleges to develop partnerships and share career opportunities in the DoD to lead the way for our Defense Acquisition Workforce.

While in Florida, we had the opportunity to visit SOFWERX, one of the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD)'s newest innovation labs! SOFWERX, a partnership between Defensewerx and United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), brings innovative minds together to solve the most challenging problems facing our warfighters today while keeping an eye to the future.

Dr. John DiCecco, an engineer at Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Division Newport, has received the Department of Defense (DOD) Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Advocate Award for 2018, first quarter.
