René Thomas-Rizzo, Director of Human Capital Initiatives, welcomes the Honorable Ms. Ellen Lord, Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment, to the stage.
Attendees look on as Retired Maj Gen Balskus, accompanied by HCI director René Thomas-Rizzo, 4th Estate DACM Scott Bauer, and 4th Estate Deputy DACM Aaron Hutson open the generational differences panel with a skit. When most people think about careers in the Department of Defense (DoD) they think of our Soldiers, Sailors, Airman and Marines in uniform - our Warfighters. HCI spent February 12th - 15th in sunny Florida meeting with select colleges to develop partnerships and share career opportunities in the DoD to lead the way for our Defense Acquisition Workforce.

SOFWERX While in Florida, we had the opportunity to visit SOFWERX, one of the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD)'s newest innovation labs! SOFWERX, a partnership between Defensewerx and United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), brings innovative minds together to solve the most challenging problems facing our warfighters today while keeping an eye to the future.
